Life Bio's epigenetic reprogramming therapy shows first human results in glaucoma
Life Biosciences reported the first human data for ER-100, a gene therapy that delivers the OSK reprogramming factors (Oct4, Sox2, Klf4) to the eye. In its Phase I glaucoma trial, all three patients tolerated a low dose with no adverse events related to the therapy, and two of the three improved on visual field testing, detecting light at more than 28% of tested points. It's only three patients with no control group, so it's very early. But it's the first time the approach David Sinclair's lab used to restore vision in mice in 2020 has been tried in humans. The trial now moves to a dose three times higher.
