Broadcom Arranges More Than $50 Billion in Financing for OpenAI Chip Project

Broadcom is arranging more than $50 billion in new financing for a custom AI chip it's developing with OpenAI. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year, coming a year after OAI and Broadcom announced a partnership to develop 10 gigawatts of custom chips together. The plan is to deploy these systems starting in the second half of 2026 through the end of 2029.
